The Ministry of Presence is unique to our parish. It is a comprehensive approach to providing pastoral care for
parishioners. "Presence" in this case has two meanings: we minister by beiing present to receiving our care, and we actively
demonstrate our belief that God is always present to those in need of comfort or solace. This ministry coordinates all who provide
pastoral care in its many forms: Eucharistic Visitors, Stephen Miisters, the Prayer Group, the Flower Ministry, our two
Deacons and other regular visitors to retirement communities, nursing homes, hospitals and parishioners who are homebound.
We strive always to provide the best possible care and to equip and support those who provide that care.
Ministry of Presence meets as a group on a monthly asis, for prayer and spiritual development exercises; training and skill enhancement;
coordination of care responsibilities; and mutual support and encouragement. The group encourages all who feel they are
called to provide pastoral care to contact Rev. Herb Sprouse at hsprouse@stpaulsconcord.org

EfM Stands for Education for Ministry, a four-year course of study for Christian lay people who want to connect
spiritually with the activities and relationships of daily life. EfM students recognize that everything they do -
as worker, friend, parent, volunteer - calls them into ministry, and they prepare for that ministry by systematic study
and guided reflection in a small group setting. St. Paul's will have two groups: one held on Sunday evening (7:00-9:30 PM)
and one on Friday morning (9:00-11:30 AM). Classes are starting on Sept. 12th and Sept. 17th. If you have any questions,
please contact
Rev. Herb Sprouse at hsprouse@stpaulsconcord.org or 224-2523 ext. 27 or
visit EfM website
Please note the date change for the September meeting. It will be September 21st at 11:15 AM. Our speaker will be Rev. Kate Atkinson's sister,

Now that September is here and summer is over, we all get even busier. Don't forget to mark your calendar for Sept. 21st.
